Tri-County Community College offers just about every service imaginable for a two-year institution. From GED prep courses and workforce development to vocational certification and associate’s degree programs, TCCC is a one-stop source for community education in western North Carolina. TCCC’s academics present some unique opportunities. The school has over 20 academic programs, many of which are professionally oriented. However, students who wish to transfer to a four-year institution will f... ind plenty of support as well. For example, the College Transfer Pathway program allows high school juniors and seniors to take general education classes in the Core 44 curriculum. This is the core curriculum used by all North Carolina public universities, enabling easy transfer to a bachelor’s degree program down the road. Despite being a commuter school, TCCC’s campus offers plenty of ways to get involved. Student life at Tri-County Community College includes honor societies like Alpha Beta Gamma and Phi Theta Kappa, as well as recreational organizations like the Hiking Club. State and federal financial aid programs are a good source of need-based tuition assistance. In addition to these, Tri-County Community College has many scholarships sponsored by local residents and businesses. These scholarships require the FAFSA, as well as an application form.
