Umoja Funding is an African crowdfunding platform dedicated to the agri-food sector. Beyond offering an alternative to traditional finance, Umoja Funding is a place of exchange, sharing and solidarity between a community of contributors, lenders and project owners in the agribusiness sector. We put investors and agri-food project owners in touch with each other. The goal is to raise small amounts of money from a large audience in order to finance a creative or entrepreneurial project in the foo... d industry. We work with farmers, ranchers, fishermen and producers to provide the capital they need to develop and sustain their businesses. As their businesses grow and generate more income, they pay back their loan with interest. Through our platform, we give qualified lenders the opportunity to purchase loan participations, which means they can join our mission by helping to finance the growth of agribusiness in their community or across the continent. Our goal is to create a network of lenders, donors, and investors across Africa and beyond to support the best investment projects that will strengthen the autonomy and resilience of Congolese industries in particular and African industries in general.More
