UNION COLLEGE (NEBRASKA)

Union College offers more than 50 majors, minors and emphases in 28 fields of study. More than half of the student body focus on sciences or health sciences, with exceptionally strong programs in nursing, physician assistant studies, bio-medical science and international rescue and relief. The college's Seventh-day Adventist heritage has imbued it with a tradition of volunteerism and public service. One example of this is Project Impact, the school's annual community service day. It is the lon... gest running collegiate service event with the highest percentage of campus participation in the United States. Through the college's international volunteer and Adventist Colleges Abroad programs, students spend a life-changing academic year living, working and learning around the world. Most academic programs also demonstrate their commitment to service through activities related to their expertise, such as business students assisting low-income families with tax preparation, PA and nursing participating in foot clinics, and International Rescue and Relief majors responding to fires, tornadoes and other emergencies. Union College is dedicated to mentoring students and providing real-world career experience starting long before graduation. An example of this is George Stone School, a multi-grade elementary school operated by the Education Program. It provides Union College students with in-classroom experience starting during their first year of college. Other programs accomplish this goal through internships and practicums, while the Division of Fine Arts has recently launched Mus, an in-house music and design agency matching students with community clients.More
