The Federal University of Southern Bahia (UFSB) understands education as a primary civilizing and emancipatory task,at the same time forming and transforming the human being.The UFSB was conceived to meet the educational requirements of the contemporary world,as well as the cultural,social,artistic and economic specificities of the southern region of the state of Bahia,without neglecting national and planetary development. This University encourages the possibility of recreating Brazilian public education as a vector of social integration and as a factor promoting the human condition, aspects that are little valued in the current educational model.
