Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri aims to produce and disseminate knowledge and innovation by integrating teaching. Federal University of Jequinhonha and Mucuri Valleys (UFVJM) is a higher education institution of Minas Gerais that has 62 years of existence, being 10 as a federal university. Currently, the institution has five campuses located in Diamantina, Teófilo Otoni, Unaí and Janaúba; three experimental farms located in Curvelo, Couto de Magalhães de Minas and Serro; 48 on-site undergraduate courses; four distance learning undergraduate courses offered in 11 cities of the Jequitinhonha and Mucuri Valleys; 25 courses across 20 stricto sensu graduate programs and 8 lato sensu graduate courses.
