Students who would like to begin their university degree while saving money and improving their academic performance should consider Wayne College, a division of University of Akron. Since Wayne College is a two-year school, all students with a high school diploma or GED are accepted to most programs. They not only have the advantage of this open-admissions policy, but of paying the Wayne College tuition rate, which is substantially lower than that of University of Akron. While at Wayne Colle... ge, students may work on the first two years of a bachelor’s degree, choosing from a range of fields including Business Administration, Engineering, Healthcare, Social Work, and The Fine and Liberal Arts. Assuming they maintain a good grade point average, students can then move directly on to University of Akron to complete their final two years and receive a bachelor’s degree. Wayne students also have the option of pursuing the associate’s degree track without pursuing the bachelor’s track. In order to help students to do their best while at Wayne, student services provide advising, tutoring, personal counseling and financial aid to those who qualify.
