Vanguard Atlantic Ltd. has been making private equity investments in American and European high-technology companies since 1985. The fund is currently closed to new investments other than those that come through our partners or past investments. Their philosophy has been to look for situations where our funds could be leveraged by experience, talent, and a strategic approach to markets. Although we make other investments, our specialty has been very early stage funding. We have made i... nvestments in companies that may not yet have been attractive to conventional early-stage venture funds due to under-developed strategic positioning, an incomplete management team, a business plan in progress, insufficient proof of concept, or other characteristics normally required for seed or post-seed investments.
