The mission of Variety Children’s Charities is to provide funding and services for programs that strive to alleviate suffering and improve the quality of life for children who are mentally and physically challenged, abused, sick, homeless or underprivileged. Variety the Children’s Charity believes every child deserves access to lead a full, active life. Through an array of programs and fundraising endeavors, Variety of Illinois helps to give children with disabilities the freedom and ind... ependence to live life and fulfill their roles in society. Variety of Illinois receives no government funding. We currently support a number of programs through special events, corporate sponsorships and underwriting as well as private and corporate donations. Variety the Children’s Charity is dedicated to promoting and protecting the health and wellbeing of children. Through a network of 54 chapters in 14 countries, Variety reaches into communities across the globe to offer financial assistance and services to children and organizations that serve children with disabilities. Through hard work, thoughtful stewardship and single-minded focus on the needs of the young, Variety strives to make a lasting difference in the lives of children, their families, our communities and the world…one need at a time. The U.S chapters of Variety – The Children’s Charity are a multi-million dollar philanthropic organization with locations throughout the United States. Beginning with a baby left on the doorsteps of a movie theater in 1928, professional men and women, many from the theater and film industry, have been helping children in need. Today, through the efforts of our enthusiastic volunteers and generous corporate contributors, we remain true to our heritage by giving children real, tangible help.More
