We are a social impact startup based in Venice, Italy. Since 2015 we're working on making tourism a tool for sustainable economic development. This is important as mass tourism displaces residents living in overtouristed cities, threatening their local culture and identity. With our company Venezia Autentica™ we are currently trying to halt the displacement of the population of Venice, a tourism hotspot. We do so by using digital tech and media to make it easy and fun for visitors to have an ... authentic experience of their destination while making a positive impact on the local community, mainly by supporting vetted local businesses and associations. Our work has been featured over 60 times in major international publications such as BBC, National Geographic Traveler, Arte TV, Conde Nast Traveler and more.
