WASHINGTON PARKS & PEOPLE
Washington Parks & People is a community land reclamation force, bringing together hundreds of community partners and thousands of volunteers to use community greening and park revitalization to transform the lives of people. They offer services for transforming long-forgotten parks, woodlands, streams, trails, dump sites, vacant lots, and high-crime areas into beautiful, safe, and sustainable community greens of all kinds. Those green spaces are becoming hubs of broad community transformation, including environmental restoration, urban forestry job training, expeditionary learning, arts and cultural programming, park-based health and fitness, community permaculture gardens and farm markets, and non-automotive greenway connections.
