WHEELOCK COLLEGE
More than 120 years after it was founded by education advocate Lucy Wheelock, Wheelock Collegeโs mission remains โto improve the lives of children and families.โ This attitude of social engagement pervades student life at Wheelock, with service organizations like the Childrenโs Defense Fund, the St. Bernard Project and Habit for Humanity playing huge roles on campus. While its academics are thoroughly grounded in the liberal arts, Wheelockโs curriculum also favors practical and profes... sional experience. More than a dozen majors are available, about half of which are career-based. Wheelock encourages progressive and service-oriented majors, such as Juvenile Justice & Youth Advocacy. The college also offers about 10 masterโs degree programs geared toward education and social work. Early Childhood Education, Language & Literacy Studies and Organizational Leadership are a few of the programs currently available at Wheelock. Wheelockโs undergraduate admissions requirements include the common application, personal essay, two letters of recommendation, official high school transcript and SAT/SAT scores. Graduate admissions require an essay, three letters of recommendation, a resume and all of your academic records. In addition to undergraduate financial aid, Wheelock College offers exceptional financial aid opportunities for graduate students. Graduate scholarships and assistantships are available to help you manage tuition costs.
