WhyChat allows its users to securely send text messages, voice messages, photos, or any type of file to nearby people when they do not have access to the internet. WhyChat is similar to other chat messaging applications, but the major difference is that no information is stored or transmitted to the cloud. WhyChat decentralizes your data from the cloud by storing everything securly on your device. All messages are sent directly between iOS devices with end-to-end encryption. All of your login in... formation, messages, and file attachments are also stored in an encrypted format on your device once received. WhyChat is useful for those times when you have either limited or no cellular network connectivity and maybe even no Wi-Fi access point or router to connect to the internet. Common times when this happens include while living in or visiting a remote/rural area of the world, on an airplane, on a cruise ship, on a train/subway, at the top of a high-rise building, or even deep within a building/basement. It is also useful when you internet access but it's severely restricted. This might happen at work, at a hotel, on a cruise ship, on an airplane, or while connected to a public Wi-Fi portal. Everything is transmitted locally either directly device-to-device OR device-to-router-to-device, so messages and attachments are sent quite quickly. When used on an airplane, the user does not need to pay for the airline's internet service since everything is local and they don't need to incur the high latencies associated with sending their data off the plane to cloud and then back on to the plane for the recipient.More
