WIKISPEED
Wikispeed is a green automotive-prototyping company dedicated to offering mass-production road-legal vehicles. It is comprised of a collaborative team of volunteers working remotely from all over the world. Wikispeed was created to take on the challenge of the Progressive Insurance Automotive X Prize, a 10M U.S. dollars prize purse international challenge to produce over 100 mpg vehicles. Its aim is to change the way manufacturers and consumers think about cars. Its team uses a collaborative process of rapid prototyping to build modular cars, where improvements can be incorporated immediately.
