WORLD FOOD PROGRAMME
World Food Program is a humanitarian organization that addresses hunger worldwide. It is a part of the United Nations system and is voluntarily funded. The objectives of WFP are to save lives and protect livelihoods in emergencies; support food security and nutrition and (re)build livelihoods in fragile settings; reduce risk and enable people, communities, and countries to meet their own food and nutrition needs; and reduce under nutrition and break the intergenerational cycle of hunger. The organization was founded in 1960 and is based in Rome, Italy. World Food Program operates as a subsidiary of United Nations.
