Yarok Microbio has developed a breakthrough new technology for fast detection of dangerous microbes (E.coli, Listeria, Salmonella, Yeasts & Molds etc.) for Agriculture and the entire Food Supply Chain. Results in 45 minutes instead of days, as with current testing systems. Addressed problem: Current microbiological tests are too slow, taking days, to answer the needs and requirements of the AgriFood industry. Product: Kits with proprietary reagents and software, used with a small set of off-the... -shelf lab tools. Advantages offered for the Food Industry: Fast Testing results before production and product release, to avoid product recalls, lawsuits, loss of business and protect the consumer's health. Advantages offered for Agriculture: Accurate extremely early detection of Plant Pathogens, for early adoption of phytosanitary measures, to avoid or reduce losses of spoiled high-value products and for reduction of the use of pesticides. Yarok R&D laboratory is located in Jerusalem, Israel. A demonstration lab is also operative in Milan, Italy, aimed at marketing and support the new technology in Europe. In May 2017 Yarok received from UNIDO -United Nations Industrial Development Organization- the 2017 Innovation Award for Innovative Ideas and Technologies in Agribusiness.
