ASCAP

ASCAP is a performing rights organization of composers, songwriters, lyricists, and music publishers. It protects the rights of its members by licensing and distributing royalties for the non-dramatic public performances of their copyrighted works. The organization also represents various kinds of music such as pop, rock, alternative, country, rap, hip-hop, Latin, film and television music, folk, roots and blues, jazz, gospel, Christian, new age, theater and cabaret, dance, electronic, symphonic, and concerts. ASCAP was founded in 1914 and is based in New York, United States.
