EdX is focused on transforming online and on-campus learning through methodologies, experiences, and research on an open-source platform. EdX is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and is governed by MIT and Harvard. Anant Agarwal, former Director of MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, serves as the first president of edX.
