In 1944, a young professional, Satish Chona, started an ice cream shop, by the name of Havmor, in Karachi. Initially, it began as a part-time venture to supplement the family income. The late ’70s saw the second generation- Pradeep Chona- joining the business started by his father. By this time, Havmor had also established a name for itself in the restaurant and eatery business. It is credited with pioneering North Indian cuisine (Punjabi food) in Ahmedabad. An innovator with natural business... instincts, Pradeep Chona has been instrumental in making Havmor one of India’s fastest growing ice cream brands. For the last four decades, he has been leading the company through changing times, tastes and trends. The West was won by taste, innovation, and quality. In the last six decades, from a handcart, Havmor has grown into a delicious facet the daily life of a large part of Western India. It is available through 30,000 + outlets across Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Goa, Delhi, and Telangana. Havmor has more than 160 products, possibly the most extensive range in India. The Company has a 200,000 liters per day, ISO 22000:2005 and HACCP certified state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. The third generation- Ankit Chona- is contributing to the business, building on the core values. He is the driving force in expanding the Restaurant Division as well as popularizing the Company owned Ice cream and Fast Food Parlours- Hav Funn. He is leading the modernization and standardization process of the Company.
