It delivers comprehensive, cognitive and practical distance education for fitness professionals, grounded in industry research, using both traditional and innovative modalities. It provides personal training certification material to Personal Trainers and Fitness Trainers through their Personal Trainer Certification course, Athletic Trainers through their Strength and Conditioning Certification specialization course, and Medical Professionals in all areas of health care through their Exercise / Fitness Therapy Certification specialization course. It was established in 1988 and is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona.
