We are an established grooming salon of more then 20 years. We are looking to expand to include training and boarding. Pet spending in the U.S. totaled $53.33 billion for 2012, up from $50.96 billion for 2011 for a 4.7 percent increase. Meanwhile, the APPA predicts a 4.1 percent growth rate for 2013. So this will continue to be a healthy, recession-proof industry for many years to come. The pet industry is an enormous and rapidly-growing market. In the past ten years, the industry has experien... ced unprecedented growth from $23 billion to over $50 billion – that’s more than Americans spend on movies, music and video games combined. In 2010, Americans spent $48.35 billion on their pets, with a projection of $50.84 billion in pet expenditures in 2011.1 This annual spending is expected to hit $52 billion in the next two years, according to consumer research company Packaged Facts, as cited by Forbes Magazine.
