LINGO SYSTEMS
The idea for LanguageLine Solutions began when Jeff Munks and Mike McFerrin, founders of LanguageLine Solutions, were inspired to develop a more effective method for communication with non-English proficient individuals. While serving as a police officer in San Jose, CA, Jeff responded to an urgent call one night from a man who didn’t speak English. He arrived at the scene uncertain of the situation and any potential danger awaiting him. Luckily, he was able to resolve the confusion and call an ambulance for the man’s son who was having trouble breathing. Although Jeff was able to help the man, he knew others might not always be so fortunate in the same scenario and was determined to find a better way to connect individuals regardless of their native language.
