One of the most notable events the conservatory hosts is the historic San Francisco-Shanghai International Chamber Music Festival, which includes several days of master classes, rehearsals and coaching, followed by public performances. Audiences may hear the sheng, a traditional Chinese wood instrument, for the first time ever.
