Currently there are two global phenomena happening across the globe – Data democratization and Data privacy. On one side, there is a need to make the data open – Open Banking and Open Data are becoming prevalent. Many countries in Europe have made it law for Open Banking API availability. On the other side, every country and every state in the US is in the process of passing privacy laws. On one side, data needs to be shared for better pricing, better services, staying competitive, analy... tics, innovation and digital transformation. On the other side, the same data needs to be guarded with appropriate security, avoid misuse and abuse, comply with various local regulatory requirements and demonstrate governance. There is no unified framework for all these data sets enforcing Data Security, Data Privacy and Data Governance. There are multiple solutions such as DLP, IRM, CASB, Data tokenization, Data masking, access controls, among others are deployed. But they typically do not talk to each other. Most specifically, they do not know which policies, consent, access controls to be applied for various datasets in an organization. Finally, digital transformation and innovation are hampered when there is a constant worry about data security, data privacy and data governance. With our patented platform, DSG Vault, we embed appropriate security, access controls, usage policies, consent and constraints right at the data level with support for both structured and unstructed data. This enables organizations to store, share and process the data as per the various regulatory polies while ensuring the purpose is always enforced. By embedding our platform in enterprise applications, tools, IoT platforms, etc., we embed each dataset that contains PII or sensitive information, in every department of every organization, whether collected, generated, derived or created will be subjected to a country or region-specific regulation, specific privacy law and consent of the data owner. Data collected from IoT devices are not readily considered for privacy. By doing so, we enable “Privacy by design”, “Privacy accountability”.
