SMS Masterminds was founded in 2009 by Alex Minicucci and Luke Wallace, headquartered in beautiful San Luis Obispo, California. Privately funded by Alex, they achieved profitability before the end of their first year. Quickly outgrowing their modest one room office, they expanded into a larger suite, which was expanded even further in 2014 to now over 8,000 square feet housing 70 people. They made the INC5000 list in 2013, acknowledging their rapid growth as the 66th fastest growing software com... pany in the country. In 2014, they were acquired by SpendSmart Networks, Inc., a publicly traded company (OTC: SSPC). A cash raise of $12.2M and an impressive Board of Directors gave the Masterminds team the fuel they needed to grow the business to new heights. 2015 has been a banner year for the Masterminds team, with international expansion into Canada and Mexico, licensees in over 200 markets across the United States, the launch of two new software platforms in Q1 2015, and reaching 4M subscribers in June.
