In addition to offering career and academic degrees and certificates, York County Community College provides students from all backgrounds, including those who have faced economic challenges, extensive student support services. York Community also participates in Trio, a program that provides support for students who are first generation college students or from low-income backgrounds. Trio also has its own set of college life activities, including lectures from visiting professionals and scholars and creative arts activities. Other college life activities available to the general student population include student services like academic advisement and tutoring as well as the Visiting Artists series, which brings in artists, writers and performers to exhibit, perform and discuss their work. Admissions requirements include an interview with an admissions representative and submission of an application along with transcripts or proof of a GED. York will also provide financial aid counseling, guiding students who require tuition assistance through the application process.More
